Finding the Right Sports Bra
Support levels explained, how a sports bra should fit, and the signs it is time for a new one.

A sports bra is the most important piece of kit for comfortable movement. The right one reduces bounce and lets you focus on your workout rather than adjusting straps.
Match support to your activity
- Low impact: yoga, stretching and walking. A soft, light-support style is usually enough.
- Medium impact: cycling, strength training and brisk walking. Look for a firmer band and wider straps.
- High impact: running, dance and aerobic classes. Choose maximum support with a firm band and adjustable straps.
How it should fit
- The band is snug and stays put when you raise your arms.
- Straps sit flat without digging in, and do not slip off your shoulders.
- You can breathe comfortably and move freely.
- Do a quick test: jog on the spot or jump gently. If you notice a lot of movement, try a firmer fit or a higher support level.
When to replace it
If the band has lost its stretch, the fabric feels thin, or you notice more movement than before, it is time for a new one. Regular washing and air drying will help it last longer.
